FMES maintains a 15,000 volume library filled with books to interest pre-school through 8th grade. Plenty of non-fiction and reference materials help students learn to research topics they choose themselves. Students begin visiting the library with their guides in Children’s House, and gradually gain independence. We try to answer questions first using a book in our collection, but we also help children use our local public libraries and web resources. Our goal is for students to grow into lifelong library users, confident in the world of information.

A professional librarian supervises research during the morning work period, and parents volunteer to keep the library open in the afternoons. Parents also help with processing new materials and maintaining shelf order.

Students and families look forward to two yearly book fairs that earn funds for new books.

Parents can check their child’s borrowing through ParentsWeb. Click here to search our library catalog.
