Dear Earth School Families & Staff:

“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows.”
St. Francis

We are home and all seems well. All of us are extremely grateful for the tremendous outpouring of prayers, gifts, and concern. You are remembered in our daily prayers with much gratitude. We are now working with insurance to see if they will cover any of our losses such at hotel fees, cleaning of furniture etc. Whenever something of this nature happens we are reminded of what really is important. Again thank you!!

School is off to a great start with lessons being taught, E2’s starting and an overall good feeling. I’m excited to hear the stories from the children everyday. Our new students seem to be adjusting to their new environment and we ask everyone to reach out to these childen and their families.

The updated Parent Handbook was sent via email and is also on the web. Please read it and note the changes. Sometimes people say “I didn’t know that” – well most information is written in the handbook, so please take the time to review it.

We have several afterschool sports and activities available for your child. MA is also available. Flyers will be placed in your family folder or sent via email, so if you do not receive anything, please contact Pam and she will direct you to the person in charge of the activity.

This week we will do the “Mr. Rubby” drill – for those of you who may not know, this is a drill that teaches the children what to do in case a dangerous person comes into the school. Please talk this over with your child, so they do not experience fears. All of these drills are completed every month. We cleared the school in 30 seconds for the fire drill. Great work.

We have a few people who have not completed the online registration. This, plus immunization forms, driving information, background checks all need to be submitted before anyone goes on trips, or works with children in any activity. I’m pleased with the number who have completed the ethics class. Remember, you only need to do this once during the years you are here at FMES.

I hope you are enjoying the upgraded bathrooms and the beautiful hallways. Our next project is the library and using the “fund n’ item” auction monies.

FMES/SFA is accredited through the Northwest Accreditation of Independent Schools. We are beginning the process of applying for addtional accreditation through the Western Catholic Education Association. This requires information gathered from all of our stakeholders. Please know that we will communicate the entire process as we move forward. We need everyone to support and be part of this important project. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Have a wonderful week and again thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Sister Therese
