Dear Earth School Families & Staff

Welcome to our new families and welcome back to our returning families. We are grateful that you have chosen to be part of our FMES/SFA community. Our staff is the finest, eager to serve parents and to work with each student as they mature and grow into their potential.

This summer, hours and hours plus money were put into finishing off the remodeling of our bathrooms, painting, updating classrooms and so much more. Without the time, talent and treasure of Georgia Erdenberger and Associates, along with so many parents, the work would have never been completed. Many parents donated time to help with projects. Thank you to all. We are extremely grateful to everyone.

As we begin another year please remember to communicate with the Guides and with me. We are here to serve and want to do all we can to make your family feel safe and comfortable in our school community.

This year we are planning our 40th anniversary. The big event is Saturday, September 9. At this point we are not sure if it can be at Bridal Veil as planned or if we will have it here at school. We will keep you posted. In 1977 the school was founded. We must celebrate the years of successes, challenges and the development of a school that is truly child-centered, and based on the philosophy of Maria Montessori. The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist along with our Foundress Mother Francine were very insightful during the early years of development. Let us be grateful and rejoice for the many children, staff and families who have blessed this school over the years with their presence, gifts and talents.

Every week I will send a letter of reminders and the latest updates of the school. Please feel free to stop by my office at any time for a visit, cup of coffee or just to “hang out.” I want to hear from you.

We will be posting the revised Parent Handbook. Please read it. We again have made some changes in the dress code and some other areas. I ask that you follow the policies. As a private school we are concerned about many things and sometimes someone may not like what they read, but please be open to our thoughts. The Handbook is not to make life harder for you, but to help live our Mission.

Please remember to complete your lunch menus and any other forms that you may have not completed. We have completed the replanting of our garden outside of the side door of the school. We ask that you walk around the garden not through it. This will make it easier for the plants to grow and not be distracting to the Upper Elementary Students. Thank you for your consideration.
We Sisters thank all of you for the kind emails, thoughts, prayers, texts, and many offers to open your homes to us. It was scary to leave our home last evening without our animals, and our many processions. What is important is that we are all safe. Your love and support will sustain us until we can return to Bridal Veil. Our school community is “remarkably different” in surrounding our FSE Community during this stressful time. Thank you from all of us.

Have a wonderful day and week.
